Ralph World/My Super Sour Sixteen/How To: Brain Takes Over The World[1] is the 17th episode in the Animaniacs reboot and the 4th episode in its 2nd Season. It premiered earlier before its Hulu and Stan debuts in a Twitter livestream exclusive to US residents.

Synopsis[]

Ralph parodies a Westworld opening. The Warners ruin a super sweet 16 party. Pinky makes a how to video about taking over the world. [2]

  • "Ralph World Theme" (Instrumental)

Trivia[]

Theme Song[]

OpenShot2020

Variable Verse[]

Dot: "Hungry for fame-y!"

Trivia[]

  • This episode features a unique transition from "Ralph World", where the camera zooms into the WB badge on Ralph's uniform, eventually cutting directly to the WB logo on the tower in the theme song.

My Super Sour Sixteen[]

Animation by Digital eMation, Inc.

Plot[]

Nora's daughter, Cora, is celebrating her 16th birthday. After the Warners come to Nora's office complaining about a leaky pipe, she asks them to fill-in for Cora's favorite band, Boystorm, as they bailed out last minute to the party. However, their identities are revealed mid-performance, and Dot must serve as a mediator when Cora's temper overflows.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first double-length segment in the series.
  • For the umpteenth time, Yakko sings "Yakko's World," this time when a partygoer points out that the Warners are not BoyStorm and someone shouts to call the coast guard! Yakko mutters, "Um... Canada, Mexico, Panama, Haiti, Jamaica, Per~u?"
  • The title of this cartoon is a parody of the MTV reality television show My Super Sweet Sixteen, which documented teenagers from wealthy families throwing lavish and extravagant coming-of-age birthday parties.
  • When Wakko mentions Wakko's Wish, a brief snippet of the movie's score can be heard.
  • This segment was previously referenced by Dot in "The Warners' Press Conference".
  • This segment marks the return of the gag in which Dot announces her real name, Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca III.
  • When inquired if they can sing by Nora Rita Norita, the Warners mention the songs "Multiplication", "Wakko's America", and "Yakko's Universe."
  • Some of Yakko's voice lines are in lower quality, possibly due to Rob Paulsen adjusting to at-home recording during the COVID-19 quarantine for the first time.

Plot[]

Through a series of vignettes set up as videos on Pinky's oh-so-popular social media account, Pinky parodies common tropes of content creators while annoying the Brain in the process.

Crew[]

  • Written by James Butler and Brad DePrima
  • Directed by Katie Rice

Songs[]

Trivia[]

  • Some of the audio in this segment is in noticeably lower quality, most likely to emulate the auditory style of filming on a phone. It also could be because the voice lines may have been recorded at home during the 2020 pandemic.
  • Much of this episode is presented in a similar matter to "The Pinky P.O.V."; here it is being framed from Pinky's camera's perspective rather than his own perspective with internal thoughts.
  • The moment when Pinky falls into the box and screams in agony is a nod to the Grape Lady video, which followed a news reporter falling over during a grape stomping demonstration during a segment advertising a winery resort in 1998. The video was first uploaded on the internet in 2004 on other media-sharing sites before uploading onto YouTube in 2006, and has gained over 20,000,000 views.
  • ASMR stands for auto sensory meridian
  • This cartoon is later followed by "How To: Friendship" in episode 27.
  • Innuendo: Brain calls Pinky a 'boob' and Pinky tells him not to say "the B-word" because kids watch his videos. Later, Brain talks about manipulating [lottery] balls, and Pinky again admonishes him for saying whatever he wants on his livestream.

Production Notes[]

  • This episode originally premiered on November 4, 2021 through an official Twitter livestream, hosted by Hulu. It was available to watch for three hours after its premiere, and was only accessible for users in the United States. This episode was likely selected due to "How To: Brain Takes Over The World" containing livestream elements.
  • This is the first episode of the reboot to not feature a third cartoon after the Pinky and the Brain segment; as it cuts straight to the end credits.
