Mario Party

Bob-ombic Plague is an 8-Player minigame in Mario Party 7.

Opening[]

A curtain spreads to show the eight characters, all of whom are facing away from one another, with their eyes closed and their hands on their chest. A light turns on, then every character puts their right hand up, opens their eyes, and jumps to face each other.

Gameplay[]

The eight characters have to pass around a Bob-omb, which turns red after a while. Each character has to try and avoid either the Bob-omb exploding in their hands or being caught within the blast radius, as when the Bob-omb explodes in a character's hands, both they and adjacent characters are blasted away and eliminated. After the first Bob-omb explodes, only five of the characters are remaining, then two, and lastly one. Whoever is the last character standing wins for their team, but the minigame ends earlier if the last two remaining characters are on the same team, as this results in an automatic win.

Ending[]

The ending to Bob-ombic Plague

The winners stand in front of a wall with a picture of a city. When the wall rises to reveal the losing characters on a lit-up stage, the winners do their respective victory animation as confetti falls on them, while the losing characters do their respective losing animation.

Controls[]

  • L Button / R Button: Pass Bob-omb (or wave at other characters if not holding a Bob-omb, although this does not affect gameplay)

Flavor text[]

  • Rules: Form a ring and pass the Bob-omb to the next player. When it blows, players on either side will lose!
  • Advice: When the Bob-omb turns red, it's ready to blow. Quick! Pass it on!

Trivia[]

  • The minigame's name is a portmanteau of "Bob-omb" and "bubonic plague," a type of infection.
