Funderwall! is a Bowser Mini-game featured in Mario Party 7. As such, there is a possibility of playing it from landing on a Bowser Space. Funderwall! takes place in a city resembling New York City.

Opening[]

Bowser is shown on his throne. Whilst he raises one hand and shouts, the camera zooms out, showing that the throne has been moved to the top of the wall. The camera pans down to the bottom, where Mario and company start their climb.

Gameplay[]

As its name implies, Funderwall! involves a giant chain link wall that Mario and his friends have to climb up. There are spike traps on the wall, however. These spike traps do not move from their spot, so they can easily be avoided, but if a character touches one, they will accidentally jump off the wall whilst screaming in pain, thus getting eliminated. However, Koopa Kid and his brothers will strike with their flame weapons, and Mario and his friends will lose their grip upon making contact with a burning spot, getting eliminated as well. The spot where the Mini Bowsers' weapons point to is telegraphed by a cursor. The finish line is at the wall's top, and those that make it there win, while those that were eliminated lose.

Ending[]

If a player character finishes the course, that character is shown celebrating. Losers are nowhere to be found.

Ties[]

Ties occur whenever either nobody gets knocked off the wall or everyone gets knocked off. The ending to the former scenario has all the characters celebrate whilst Bowser sulks. However, if nobody made it, the Koopa King celebrates his victory by laughing, then raising one of his fists in triumph.

Text[]

  • Rules: "Climb to the top of the fence while dodging the fierce attacks of the Koopa Kids!"
  • Advice: "The Koopa Kids use cursors to aim their weapons. Avoid them as you climb!"

Trivia[]

  • This is the only Bowser minigame from Mario Party 7 to have a single word in the name.
  • It and Bowser's Lovely Lift! are also the only vertical-scrolling Bowser minigames from Mario Party 7.
  • The minigame's title could possibly be a pun on the Oasis song "Wonderwall."
