A Sling Pod is an object in Super Mario Galaxy.

Description[]

Sling Pods are stretchable white balls of web with sticky properties, so Mario can attach himself to a Sling Pod before being launched. Once Mario is attached, the player has to use the Star Pointer to pull back on the Sling Pod in the direction opposite of where they want to launch Mario. When the stretched back Sling Pod is released, Mario is launched in that direction.

In Super Mario Galaxy[]

Sling Pods can be found in Space Junk Galaxy, the Sling Pod Galaxy, and the Ghostly Galaxy. The Sling Pod Galaxy is named for Sling Pods appearing throughout, more prominently than in the other two galaxies. The only mission of Sling Pod Galaxy, A Very Sticky Situation, involves using Sling Pods and Pull Stars alike as Mario makes his way to the Power Star.
