Portal 4-H or just 4-H, is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the eighth Cyber Space stage in Ouranos Island during The Final Horizon, and the thirty-eighth overall. It is a remix of 4-4, and like 4-4, it is one of the longest stages in the game.

Description[]

Main articles: 4-4 and Eternal Highway

4-H shares the basic Cyber Space theme along other stages, while presenting floating city locations strongly resembling Skyscraper Scamper from Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed and Speed Highway from console/PC version of Sonic Generations. As such, there are many streets and buildings present in the distance. The streets are layered with various signs as well as traffic signals, while the background consist of fast moving roads complementing the sky blue background with rapid, laser-like sparks also bypassing the screen to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.

Portal location[]

The entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located in the western-most corner of Ouranos Island, situated in the middle of a group of houses along the cliff's edge. It requires one Portal Gear for this Portal to connect to Cyber Space.

Gameplay[]

4-H is a long, relatively linear stage filled with grind rails, laser fields, balloons, and boxes, both ones that must be broken to proceed, and ones that must be used for tight platforming. 4-H is the second and last stage to feature the mine radar gimmick, where a large exclamation point will appear over Sonic's head when he gets close to a mine, with blue meaning he's still far away from it, yellow meaning he's approaching it, and red meaning he's near it and in danger of stepping on it. If he does, he'll be damaged and lose rings while flying up in the air and fail one of the missions. There are no Star Posts present in this stage.

Collectable locations[]

Number Rings[]

  • Unlike the other Cyber Space stages, the Number Rings are spread throughout the stage.
    • Number Ring 5 can be found after the large loops at the beginning of the stage. The player should take the right-hand path, where it will be in front of a ramp.
    • Number Ring 4 can be found right after the pulley that is reached by climbing the boxes in the section where the first animal is.
    • Number Ring 3 can be found after the section where the Silver Moon Rings are. By using the mine near the middle of the following pathways, the player will be launched to an upper path, which connects to a series of rails. Alternatively, the player can choose to run on the road with rows of wooden containers that break under Sonic's feet, which leads to a lower platform that is close enough to be reached with a Homing Attack. Either way, this Number Ring can be found on the middle rail, after a series of crossed lasers.
    • Number Ring 2 can be found after a series of crossed rails with lasers blocking them at various points. By using the middle rail, the player can jump into a Dash Ring over a gap in the rails to reach it, or simply jump from one of the adjacent rails.
    • Number Ring 1 can be found after the final animal, floating in midair after a large ramp that ends in five Dash Rings launches Sonic upwards towards it.

Silver Moon Rings[]

  • In the area with the second animal, the Silver Moon Rings can be found on the boxes floating above the main path, on the highest row of boxes.

Animals[]

  • The first animal, a Pocky, can be found at the bottom of an open area filled with floating boxes directly after the start of the stage. The drop-off zone is at the top of the area, which requires the usage of the floating boxes to read, and the player must take care not to activate any of the mines present.
  • After a series of springs launches Sonic to an area similar to the first one, a Ricky will be at the bottom of the path. The drop-off zone is in an alcove on the right side, near some street signs, and can be reached using the floating boxes.
  • After a launching Sonic in a ramp, the player will find a Rocky a the bottom of a similar area to the previous two animals. The drop-off zone is in the middle of the section, and the player must use the floating boxes to reach it while avoiding the mines.
