Days Gone: Wizard Island Days Gone guide, walkthrough

Last update: 12 December 2022

This page in our guide to Days Gone focuses on Wizard Island Camp. This is the last large encampment you will visit during the main storyline. Here, you can meet with a few important NPCs and purchase valuable gear.

Wizard Island is the largest encampment in the game - Days Gone: Wizard Island - Encampments - Days Gone Guide

Wizard Island is the largest encampment in the game. It is located in the center of Crater Lake region. The southern part of the map is inaccessible through the majority of the game. You need to reach the point of the game where Deacon decides to head south to look for information about Sara. This will happen during Riding Nomad Again main quest.

Don't try to visit Wizard Island right after you reach Crater Lake. Instead, you should complete a few story missions first. Keep doing them until you unlock I Don't Have a Pic mission. The goal of that quest is to accompany captain Kouri in his trip to Wizard Island.

Once you get there, meet with Col - Days Gone: Wizard Island - Encampments - Days Gone Guide

Once you get there, meet with Col. Garret, the leader of Wizard Island. Captain Kouri will stand up for Deacon. Watch the cut-scene. After that, accompany the man - you will meet with a few important NPCs. Once this part is over, you will be able to walk around the camp freely and revisit it whenever you want to. There are two bridges leading to the island - one in the north and one in the south. Cross any of them to enter the encampment.

Col. Garret will give you side quests related to Wizard Island. Wait for him to contact Deacon over the radio. After that, go back to this encampment to learn more details. Try to complete all missions for Garret before you reach the campaign's finale (when you have to go back to the northern regions) - otherwise, you won't be able to complete them. The best way to do that is to go back to the camp to start a new side quest every time Garret contacts you.

The mechanic in Wizard Island doesnt sell any parts - Days Gone: Wizard Island - Encampments - Days Gone Guide

The mechanic in Wizard Island doesn't sell any parts. You can only refuel your bike, repair it or move it back to the camp.

The merchant, on the other hand, is one of the most important NPCs in Wizard Island Camp. This person sells the best weapons in the entire game. Remember, these weapons require a specific Trust level so be sure to complete missions related to Wizard Island and deliver supplies to this encampment on a regular basis. Among the weapons offered by this merchant you can find The Cowboy (requires Trust level 2), Badlands Big Game (requires Trust level 3), or .50 BFG (requires Trust level 3). This merchant is also selling ammunition, suppressors, grenades, etc.

Wizard Island is a large camp - Days Gone: Wizard Island - Encampments - Days Gone Guide

Wizard Island is a large camp. The Ark, a location inside the mountain where Garret is storing all things that must survive the apocalypse, has a rather complex layout. The Ark has multiple floors. Garret's tent is at the top of the mountain. Sadly, exploring the entire camp rewards you only with a few collectibles. You won't unlock any missions, unique weapons or items.

You don't have to go down through the corridors again if you want to reach the bottom. There is a wide path going down the hillside that you can use to reach the ground floor. You can also use this path to drive the bike to the top.
