This page of the Elex 2 guide contains Begginer's Guide to help new players get started. Our tips include how to get a companion, how to use fast travel, and how to restore health.

Last update: 25 February 2022

The following page is a beginner's guide to Elex 2. The following tips have been created specifically for beginner players. Our guide will show you how to get your first companion and how to unlock fast travel. We also explain how to heal your character and where to find items useful at the start of the game. Here you will learn how to learn new skills (perks) and how to use the jetpack. Generally, the beginner's guide focuses on the most important elements of the game - combat, world exploration or character development.

The inventory space is unlimited

The inventory in Elex 2 has unlimited capacity - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

The inventory in Elex 2 has unlimited capacity. Use it and collect anything you find as you explore the world. Most of the items you find won't be very valuable, but selling a lot of loot will give you lots of Elexit crystals. The crystals can then be used to buy better equipment or skills.

Here, it's important to mention that opening the inventory menu does not stop the game . This means that you can get killed while browsing your items, so better do it somewhere safe.

Jetpack makes exploration easier

You will get access to the jetpack in Elex 2 at the beginning of the game - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

You will get access to the jetpack in Elex 2 at the beginning of the game. A jetpack with no upgrades has a low fuel capacity and only allows you to fly for a short time, but that doesn't mean it's useless. Using a jetpack will allow you to descend from high places, which would kill you if you jumped from them. All you have to do is use the jetpack before landing to reduce the falling speed.

The jetpack can be upgraded - then it works great in combat and traversing longer distances. You can learn more on a separate page of the guide - Jetpack .

Flashlight helps in dark areas

Many places in Elex 2 are dimly lit - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

Many places in Elex 2 are dimly lit. Fortunately, you have a flashlight that will help you in dark locations. Its use is unlimited - the flashlight does not need to be recharged in any way.

You will find useful starting items in the Bastion

The Bastion is one of the first locations you visit in Elex 2 - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

The Bastion is one of the first locations you visit in Elex 2. The destroyed fortress contains a lot of items, so you should search it carefully. Here you will find food, potions or items that you will sell later. It's also worth unlocking the fast travel point to be able to return here more easily.

Avoid enemies with the skull icon

In the game, many enemies you encounter may turn out to be deadly, but the most dangerous are those marked with a skull icon - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

In the game, many enemies you encounter may turn out to be deadly, but the most dangerous are those marked with a skull icon. The skull means that a given enemy is much stronger than you. These types of opponents are extremely difficult to defeat. It's best to leave them until you upgrade Jax and get better equipment.

Unlocking fast travel

If during exploration you see the platform shown in the picture above, approach it to unlock a fast travel point - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

If during exploration you see the platform shown in the picture above, approach it to unlock a fast travel point. From now on, you can teleport here for free from anywhere on the map. Creating an extensive network of fast travel points makes travelling around the game world and completing tasks in Elex 2 much easier.

Healing

Due to a large number of fights, your character will need healing - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

Due to a large number of fights, your character will need healing. There are several ways to heal Jax. Sleep is a free way to restore health. Beds are scattered all over the game world, but remember that you cannot use someone else's place - you can find an available bed, e.g. in the Bastion. The second way is to eat food, potions and plants. This way you can heal yourself in combat.

We've described healing in more detail on a separate page of the guide to Elex 2: Healing - How to restore health?.

Getting your first companion

Traveling with a companion in Elex 2 makes combat much easier - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

Traveling with a companion in Elex 2 makes combat much easier. In addition, companions participate in conversations with other characters and express their opinions when you need to make a decision. Therefore, it's worth getting your first companion quickly. To do this, complete the Only a dead Morkon mission that you get from Kaja at the beginning of the game. When you complete the task and kill a few Morkons, Kaja will become your companion.

There are a few other companions in the game who can travel the world with you. For more information, please visit a separate page of the guide - Companions.

Acquiring skills

When you level up, you will receive attribute points, which allow you to develop Strength or Intelligence at any time - Elex 2: Beginners Guide - Basics - Elex 2 Guide

When you level up, you will receive attribute points, which allow you to develop Strength or Intelligence at any time. However, things look different in case of perks. To get a skill, you must first find a proper teacher. They are scattered all over the world and specialize in various skills - some will teach you to fight, others - crafting. To learn, you need skill points (earned each time you level up) and Elexit crystals.

Additionally, you must meet the requirements - e.g. the appropriate level of a given attribute or having a specific skill. Moreover, skill teachers are not always cooperative - sometimes you will have to pay them or complete a quest for them. Previously found teachers are marked with a book icon on the map, which makes it easier to find them later.

The locations of the characters teaching skills can be found on a separate page of the guide - Skill trainers.
