Slime Ghosts are an antagonistic species in the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! live-action segment "Slime Busters."

Slime Ghosts are slimy, green, glowing creatures.

Behavior[]

Slime Ghosts have the ability to spread, take control of someone's body, and speak. They can be defeated with proton packs, such as the ones used by the Slime Busters.

In "Slime Busters"[]

Several Slime Ghosts have invaded Mario Brothers Plumbing, causing trouble for Mario and Luigi. As a Slime Ghost pulls Luigi into the back room, Ernie Hudson of the Slime Busters shows up and tries to hunt any Slime Ghosts he can find. Ernie eventually finds a Slime Ghost in Luigi, who has been possessed by it while he was in the back room, unbeknown to the others.

As Ernie and Mario search for Slime Ghosts, Luigi takes a bite out of his plate, and part of his body turns into slime. To get rid of the Slime Ghost, Ernie shoots at Luigi using his proton gun, and although Luigi tries to deflect Ernie's shot with a pizza pan, Ernie successfully gets rid of the Slime Ghost from Luigi. However, the pizza pan became dented and possessed by the Slime Ghost, and it asks for Ernie to take him away from Mario and Luigi, calling the two of them Goombas.
