Many of us approached the Mafia remake with considerable distrust. Finally, the recreation of the classic game was undertaken by the Hangar 13 studio, which once managed to disappoint players with their Mafia 3. In addition, the remasters of the Mafia 2 and 3 released a moment earlier were experiencing serious technical problems, which made it even more doubtful whether the publisher takes this project seriously enough.

Fortunately, in this case the worries turned out to be undeserved. Hangar 13 learned the lessons of their failure and treated The City of Lost Heaven with due respect, diligently recreating the iconic city using modern technology and telling the original story anew, without making any sudden changes in the scenario, but only small, quite successful corrections here and there.

And so the older players could once again experience the fascinating story of Tommy Angelo's rise and fall, remember the sweat and tears caused by the infamous race, and absorb the wonderful atmosphere taken straight from films such as The Godfather and Goodfellas. The newcomers, on the other hand, were given a chance to get to know this phenomenon in a painless way (although in truth the original Mafia grew old in a much more dignified way than one could fear), not having to accept visual compromises and being given the opportunity to adjust the game to their own needs, optionally excluding some of the difficulties introduced by the original.
