The Dredge materials play an important role in The Iron Rig DLC for Dredge. On this page of our guide we explain how to construct and harvest resources with the help of the Material Harvester, how to produce materials yourself and under what circumstances they can be used on an oil rig.

What can you use the Dredge materials for in the DLC?

1. The Dredge materials are used in some rig projects, such as crafting Ironhaven Crates or Dark Canisters in the Foundry. The list of required ingredients may include Metal Scraps, Bolts of Cloth and Lumber.

1. The old method of gathering the Dredge resources is to find fishing spots. The spyglass can help you with this. This is a slow and rather tedious technique, but fortunately there are new ones, described below.

How to build and use a Material Harvester?

1. The Material Harvester can be of great help to you in collecting materials. You can unlock the schematics to craft this tool once you upgrade your Factory to tier 2.

To build a Material Harvester, you will need:

1. 1 Ironhaven Crate;
2. Basic Trawl Net- you can buy it if necessary by visiting Undermarket;
3. $50.

Install the purchased Material Harvester into the matching slots in the ship's hold.

1. While swimming in the game world, select the Material Harvester from the drop-down menu to submerge it in water. From this point on, the Material Harvester can automatically collect the Dredge materials. After a long trip you should have noticed at least a few new items caught in the net.
2. The Material Harvester can be in use for 1 day (time is counted only while it's submerged). Once the time runs out, visit any location (e.g. one of the pontoons) allowing for repairing ship components. This will allow you to continue traveling with this equipment to collect more materials.

Producing Dredge materials on the rig

1. Another technique for obtaining the Dredge materials is to produce them on the rig. This becomes possible after leveling the Foundry up to tier 2.
2. In the Foundry you can produce, among other things, Metal Scraps, Bolts of Cloth and Lumber. Unfortunately, you not only have to spend cash, but also use up Ironhaven Crates for that. We recommend using this technique only if you don't already have a Material Harvester or if you need quick access to a specific material (e.g. to complete a ship upgrade).
