I’m not really into baseball, and I’ve read a lot of single dad / nanny books. But something about this book made me want to read it. And I’m so glad I did, because boy did I enjoy this book!
In ‘Strikeout’ we meet Isabella and Mateo. Isabella’s life has been trough the ringer after a terrible media situation five years ago. It’s taken her all this time to get back on her feet. And now she even wants more. It’s time to make her dream of becoming a book cover designer real. When the perfect job of becoming a nanny to the tarting pitcher of the New York Monarchs become available it seems perfect for Isabella. In the morning and night she can take care of the little girl, and during the day she can work on her new business. Perfect right? Except the fact that she is horrible attracted to the single dad Mateo. And whenever he is close she always seems to say the wrong things. And since Mateo is keeping her on a three strikes system, the strikes are coming fast.
Isabella and Mateo’s story was really not what I expected. Sure, I expected some romance.. And boy did we get it. But we also get a feisty, rambling Isabella which really made for some very fun moments. And I definitely laughed out loud several times. Add a sweet, smart little girl and a handsome baseball player who is determined to keep his distance despite of his obvious attraction to his nanny and this book was a hit.
The slow-burning romance was swoon worthy and I couldn’t read this book fast enough. I loved everything about this book honestly. And I can’t wait what’s next in this series about the New York Monarchs. I even might start to like baseball. ...more
‘Things We Hide From the Light’ is the second standalone in the Knockemout series. You can definitely read it as a standalone, but I’m glad I read the‘Things We Hide From the Light’ is the second standalone in the Knockemout series. You can definitely read it as a standalone, but I’m glad I read the books in order, because I think it made this book even more fun. And fun it sure was!
After reading about the oldest Morgan brother in book one, this book is about the youngest brother Nash. Nash Morgan is a police chief in the small town of Knockemout. All he ever wanted to do is make a difference and do good. And this seemed to be working for him, until he got shot twice and gets badly injured. Now all he wants to do is be alone, and forget about everything. But this is not easily done in a town as small as Knockemout, and being surrounded by nosy people.
Not to forget the gorgeous smart-mouthed Lina Solavita, who is only supposed to be in the small town for a few weeks. From the moment Nash and Lina meet there is something between them. But both aren’t in a place to start something serious. Especially since Lina gets anxious just thinking about relationships and getting close to someone. But the more time Nash and Lina spend together, the harder it gets to deny that there is something special between them. Unfortunately life gets pretty messy in Knockemout, especially when the guy who shot Nash, seems to be looking to finish what he started.
‘Things We Hide From the Light’ was definitely a very fun read I really enjoyed. From the moment I started reading about Nash, I wanted to learn more about him. What I loved the most was how he was the good guy everyone thought would have ended up being married with kids a long time ago. And that was definitely what he wanted out of life, but things just didn’t end up going that way. Lina was afraid of getting closer to someone, and never stayed in one place long. Nash changed that for her. And I loved that.
The setting of Knockemout was great. I love a small town vibe, and this little town was great. I loved getting to know more of the characters and seeing the characters of the first book back. The romance was swoonworthy and I didn’t want to stop reading. It was definitely a good time getting back to Knockemout. And you know what.. I can’t wait to read Lucien’s story. Book three is going to be read real soon!

Zach Teager is a very rich businessman who has everything his heart desires. He is definitely the ‘fun’ one. But his fun, charming exterior hides the pain of his past. He has learned to life with his past, but the way he does it isn’t something he is proud of. One afternoon Zach meets a little boy, and from the moment he lays eyes on the little boy he knows he wants to take care of him. And when Zach meets the boy mom, he is determined to take care of her as well.
Hope is a hardworking single mom. She does everything in her life to make her little boy Jay happy. But it has been a struggle. When her little boy gets enamored by this rich guy, Hope knows this life Zach offers is too good to be true. But a mom does everything to make her kid happy, and Zach definitely makes Jay happy. But how can she keep her heart from wanting more of Zach herself? Because the only thing Zach promises to not be able to give her is love.
Although this story seemed a bit much, I mean a bachelor and rich handsome guy that meets a little boy and wants to take care of him, I loved it from the start. And I found myself intrigued by the characters. Throughout this book we slowly get to know the characters and their story more and more and I loved every moment.
Zach is a very charming guy I really loved from the start. He was definitely a prince charming kind of guy, with the exception of his ‘secret’ and he sure charmed me. The way Zach was with the little boy made my mom heart melt. But my favorite character was definitely Hope. Hope has been a hardworking, loving and caring mother from the moment she found out she was pregnant. And she did all she could to make sure her boy got everything he wants.
The romance between Zach and Hope was definitely a slow-burn one, and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Sure, some things where a bit unbelievable, but I loved it. And I loved reading this story through both Zach and Hope’s point of view.
‘Marrying Hope’ is a story I’d really recommend if you enjoy romance. And it really made me want to start reading the other books in the series as soon as possible. ...more
