I loved that book, so when I was looking for a new read I immediately bought this one and I started reading as soon as possible.
In ‘True To You’ we meet Dawson King, an undercover DEA Agent. Dawson has spend the last view months in prison making sure his ‘identity’ is solid and he can catch a big guy in the drug business. To catch that guy he needs to get close to the guys daughter, Cara and find out if she knows anything that will help King catch the bad guys. But from the moment King meets Cara, there is an attraction between the two of them that’s almost impossible to deny. At first he thinks the attraction is just because of the months he spend in jail and Cara being the first woman he is around, but soon he finds out that it’s much more than that. But King is undercover and Cara doesn’t really know who he is.
Just as with the first book in the series, I really loved this book from the moment I started reading. The chemistry between King and Cara was seeping through these pages from the moment I started reading and I couldn’t stop till I read every single page. There where a lot of moments between these two that I loved, some pretty hot scenes and some seriously butterflies-in-your-belly moments.
My favorite character in this book was definitely Dawson. I loved reading this story through his eyes and how torn he was about doing his job and being honest to Cara. He was really such a sweet and sexy guy, but he couldn’t be himself until the bad guys where caught and I struggled right alongside him. Cara’s character was also a great one. It was definitely nice to read this story from both their point of views.
Although I loved the romance in this book, the suspense was even better. This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. There was so much that could go wrong, I simply couldn’t stop reading until I knew how it ended.
The one thing about this book that was a little less than perfect to me, was that I sometimes felt like I missed something. Something would happen and I didn’t really understand everything. I would go back a couple pages to re-read it and figure out what I missed, but I didn’t miss anything. It was almost like the author forgot to share a little detail. It wasn’t something big, but still I noticed it.
Overall this was a another great read and I can’t wait to read book three.

Three years ago I listened to an audiobook of a Christmas book written by Katie Reus. I loved that story! So when I saw ‘Covert Games’ on Netgalley I Three years ago I listened to an audiobook of a Christmas book written by Katie Reus. I loved that story! So when I saw ‘Covert Games’ on Netgalley I requested a copy as soon as possible. And I couldn’t be more excited when I found out I was approved to read an ARC. Although ‘Covert Games’ is the sixth book in the Redemption Harbor series, it can be read as a standalone.
In ‘Covert Games’ we follow Leighton and his team while they are working on taking down there greatest enemy, Alexei Kuznetov. To get to him, Leighton is going undercover to get close to Alexei’s niece Lucy and to find out more about her criminal uncle. But soon Leighton finds out Lucy is much more than only a pawn in a dangerous game.
First of all, although this book can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books in the series too. I haven’t, but I really wish I had because while I was reading this book I felt like I missed information about the characters. Mostly I felt like I missed a connection with these characters that a lot of other readers do seem to have. At least that is what I think after seeing a view of the other reviews about this book.
There are two main characters in this book, Leighton and Lucy. Leighton is supposedly this broody and sexy guy with a dark past and not much in his life that he really cares about. And I honestly didn’t really like his character. Especially since one of the first things he says to Lucy is this sex related sentence that in real-life would make me run as fast as I can. And sadly I just couldn’t get passed that. Lucy’s character on the other hand was one I enjoyed reading about. She was tough, hardworking and not afraid to speak her mind. I loved reading about her character. And although I didn’t really get her relationship with Leighton, I was rooting for her character to find happiness.
Next to these two main characters there were a lot of other characters that are main characters in the other books in this series. I can imagine it would be fun to read about them again in this book. To me, as a new reader of this series all those different characters where just a little confusing.
Suspense wise I think this book was really good. There was a lot going on, and I was curious to find out what would happen next. There were definitely several moments that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Overall this book wasn’t really for me. But I seriously suspect it mostly is because I haven’t read the other books in this series. And I can easily see Katie Reus’s writing is good enough to keep you hooked to her books. Although I’m not a big fan of this book, I definitely want to read the first book in this series so I can see what I’m missing out on.

She is working two jobs to get enough money to pay for her small home, and to her it is perfect. Slowly she is getting more friends in the small town, and this scares the hell out of her. Because what if they found out what happened to her? What if people get hurt because of her? Shepard Colson is devastatingly handsome, and he seems to be a great guy. And this is enough for Thea to want to stay far away from him. But Shepard doesn’t seem to be able to stay away from Thea, and slowly Thea’s walls start to crumble and they grow closer and closer.
Delicate Escape pulled me in right from the very first page. Just as most of Catherine Cowles books, this book has a lot of romance, chemistry and such thrilling suspense.. I didn’t want to put this book down at all. The two main characters Thea and Shepard where so fun to get to know. They easily where two of my favorite characters. And I loved reading every moment in this book.
The romance and chemistry between Thea and Shepard was amazing. It made me swoon, sigh, laugh and cry all at the same time. Add the other Colson siblings, and this book was just amazing. There honestly wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this read. And the best part is, although it’s part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.
Delicate Escape was a great read I loved from start to finish, and I can’t wait to read more books in this series....more

But I knew I loved the previous books by her I read, so when I got the opportunity to read an ARC of the first part in a duet I was really excited and started reading as soon as I could.
In Scarred Souls we read the story of Hope and Vaughn. Vaughn accidentally finds himself being forced to keep Hope, the daughter of a big cartel boss, safe. Since having lived through a horrific event Vaughn has had to life with his scars and trauma, the last thing a guy like him needs is to take care of someone. But from the moment Vaughn and Hope meet, there is this instant attraction between them. They really don’t like each other though.. At least that is what they tell themselves.
Scarred Souls was a fun, faced past story filled with lots of chemistry, suspense and also some funny moments. I loved the interactions between Vaughn and Hope. They really knew how to push each others buttons.
What I also really enjoyed is how both characters went through something horrific, and they could find solace with each other. I did miss a bit of the suspense I’ve come to expect in a book but Julie Weaver, but hopefully that will be coming in the next part of this duet in September.
Overall a very fun, steamy and romantic read! ...more
Catherine Cowles is one of my absolute favorite authors. I’ve loved every series she has written so far. And from the moment I read about the Sparrow Catherine Cowles is one of my absolute favorite authors. I’ve loved every series she has written so far. And from the moment I read about the Sparrow Falls series, I knew this one was going to be epic. So when the ARC of the first book ‘Fragile Sanctuary’ arrived on my kindle, I started reading right away.
In ‘Fragile Sanctuary’ we read the story of Anson and Rhodes. Rhodes has lost her family in a fire years ago. Luckily she got the opportunity to live with a foster family that gave her everything she could have asked for. She was loved by her foster mom, grandmother, and several brothers and sisters. And she could always count on them. But now it is time for her to try to face her past and to rebuild her family home.
When she finally meets her brothers best friend Anson, who happens to be one of the guys that is rebuilding her family home, she is shocked by how grumpy and rude he really is. But although this should make her want to stay away, there is something about the guy that makes her want to stay close. And soon Rhodes learns that Anson has known loss as well.
From the moment I started reading ‘Fragile Sanctuary’ I was hooked. Catherine Cowles has a way of making you fall in love with her characters right from the start, and this book was no exception. The two main characters Anson and Rhodes couldn’t be more different, but they both had something about them that I loved right from the start. The chemistry between them was simple sizzling, and I couldn’t put this book down.
Not only the chemistry and romance in this book was unputdownable, the suspense was from another level. I loved reading how Anson’s profiler past came so the surface more and more. And in the end there where several moments in this book that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat.
Add some very interesting, and entertaining side characters and you have a perfect read in my opinion. There was nothing I didn’t love in this book. The silly grandmother, the overprotective family, and the crazy dog.. It was all so fun and entertaining. And I can’t wait to read more books in this series. ...more

She has left her life in the US behind, when yet another person she trusted broke her heart. Now she is the hospitality manager at Ardnoch Estate, and she loves the Scotland life. When Aria meets North, she is sure he is just like every actor. Arrogant, and out for her dad’s approval.
North has worked hard to be the famous actor he is now. But when someone shares a horrific event of his childhood with the media, he is forced to lay low. What better place to go then Arnoch Estate in Scotland?! North has seen the beautiful hospitality manager, Aria, before, but she has always seemed to dislike him. The two of them come head to head and soon North learns there is a lot more to Aria’s story. And both have a past that will come back to haunt them sooner or later.
Getting back to Ardnoch was such a feast. I love reading about these Highlands and these characters. And Aria and North story was another great addition. From the moment I started reading I found myself wanting to know what would happen next. Aria is this hardworking, determined woman. Although she never had to worry about money, she is determined to make people see this doesn’t mean she can’t and won’t work hard. But she has been broken and disappointed a lot as well. And reading about her past was kind of heartbreaking. North was determined to get closer to Aria and show her how beautiful and wonderful she was. I loved that he so easily fell for her and how he gave her all the time in the world to get to the same point as he.
Next to some fun romance, there was some suspense in the end as well. I loved that! Some part where a bit predictable perhaps, but I still loved it.
Throughout this book we get to read a little bit about North’s friend Theo. And when I saw he would be the main character in the next book of this series I got so excited. There’s just something about Theo I really love, and I can’t wait for his story.
‘Among The Heather’ was another great read. Although this book is part of a series, you can easily read it as a standalone.

Alex has left her previous life behind after she almost got killed by her abusive ex-husband. It’s time for her to finally start over and Hudson Island seems like the perfect place. When Alex moves next into the house next door to Sheriff Quinn O’Conner, she immediately feels save with him. The chemistry between them is flying of the pages right from the start. But is Alex really safe?
Quinn O’Conner is definitely not looking for a woman. But when he meets Alex, all he wants to do is keep her safe and take care of her. And that is what he plans on doing. From the moment they meet Quinn tries to make Alex see that there are people out there who want to be their for her. He tries to keep his own attraction a secret, but Alex makes him feel things he never has before. And when danger comes and tries to take Alex away from him, he is determined to fight for her.
‘Shattered Vows’ was an intense read right from the start. We meet Alex when she is just released from the hospital, and is still mending from her injuries. The author was able to pull me into this story right away. I was rooting for Alex right from the start. And although her abuse was horrible and reading about it pretty hard at times, she was such a strong character. And I loved how she was determined to keep on fighting.
The romance between Alex and Quinn was pretty fast, but it also seemed to fit their characters. I loved how caring Quinn was. He was blown away by Quinn right from the start and it was definitely swoon worthy/ And the moments they spend together where my absolute favorite. There was plenty of steam, and a lot of tender moments I adored.
The suspense was pretty good, but really brutal at times. And some parts of this book felt a little far fetched to me. Fortunately it didn’t bother me too much. For example Alex’s injuries. They seemed to be pretty severe, but every time she bounced back up pretty quickly. As a nurse myself I found that a bit hard to believe.. but people always keep surprising me I guess.
Above all this book really made me curious about the next book and the story of Quinn’s best friends. We read a lot about those two already, and I really can’t wait to find out there story.

I was really looking forward to reading Lawson’s story, and I found myself being hooked to the pages. And this book definitely exceeded my expectations. I loved it. Lawson’s character was my favorite. I loved how hard he worked, even though he didn’t have to, and how much he loved his boys. And those boys where so charming!
Hallie’s character was another great one. She had some anxiety problems, which where so understandable and the way she dealt with them was really impressive. Would I hire a nanny with anxiety problems to take care of my kids? Well, probably not.. but it fitted the story. The whole age gap didn’t bother me at all. Lawson mentioned it himself a few times, but I wouldn’t have noticed other wise.
There was a great slow-burn romance going on and it made this a book I didn’t want to put down. Lawson and Hallie where so fun! So I read till late at night and honestly, I’m sad I’m finished with this series. It’s probably a good thing for Cedar Ridge though, with all these aggressive people that seem to find their town! I loved getting back into the small town of Cedar Ridge and I had been really curious about Roan’s story. He was the only Hartley brother we rarely read about in the previous books because he keeps to himself most of the time. We got to know Aspen a little throughout the other books, but it was clear we missed a lot and I was so excited to finally read her secrets. And boy where her secrets intense!
Catherine Cowles always writes these perfect combinations of romance and suspense. And this book was no exception. It made me swoon one moment, and it made me sit on the edge of my seat filled with anxiety the next. Amazing.
Aspen and Roan’s romance story was so good. I loved how this, on the outside, tough and grumpy guy changed when he met Aspen and her daughter. I loved how easily they seemed to understand each other. And Aspen’s character was my favorite without a doubt. I loved how hard she worked, and how determined she was to give her little girl the best life possible. As a mom I was rooting for her from the start.
Although I loved this series so far, I am so excited and anxious to read book five that is coming next year. This will be Lawson’s story, and from the moment I started reading about him I knew his story would be my favorite. February can’t come fast enough!
And if you had any doubts, these books can be read as a standalone. But for the perfect experience I would recommend reading them in order. ...more

But when Lily finds out Dylan might be in danger, and no one is available to assist, she decides to help him out herself. From the moment they meet it is clear, the connection they had on the telephone is even more intense in real life.
‘The Rescue’ was a fun short novella that I really enjoyed reading. If I didn’t already had plans to read more books by Julie, I sure would have now, because this book leaves you wanting more. Lily and Dylan have this fun friendship, that has only ever been through the phone. And when they do finally meet the chemistry between them is undeniable.
I loved how the author made me love this characters so much in only such a short time. And I’m even more determined to continue reading this book now. ...more

So I put the first book, and the other ones as well, on my wish list on Amazon. And when I was looking for my next read I figured it was time to start reading the first book in the series. And I dived right in.
In ‘The Hit’ we read the story from both Cameron and Shep’s point of view. Cameron is a car mechanic who has been working hard to be where she is right now. The only family she has left is a her brother, but he has been getting in trouble for a long time. One night she unexpectantly finds Shep in her home. What she didn’t expect was for him to abduct her, and telling her he did it to protect her.
Shep is a hitman, hardened by his work in the army and a secret operations unit. He stays clear of people most days. The only people he encounters, are the scums he kills. And yes, they are scums. So when Shep gets offered a new job and finds Cameron at the end of his gun.. There instantly is something about her that makes him hesitate. And soon he makes it his mission to keep her safe.
I love romantic suspense and I had some high expectations of Julie Weaver. And I can honestly say she met all my expectations. From the moment I started reading ‘The Hit’ I was hooked. The writing pulled me in right from the start. We get to know Cameron and Shep. And Shep was definitely my favorite character. Sure, he is a killer, but he only kills people who deserve it and after getting to know him better I just felt like he did what he thought he was supposed to do. And boy was he a goner for Cameron right from the start. Swoon!!
There also where some twists in this read I really enjoyed. I figured the story would go one way, and then things ended going totally the other way. So fun. The suspense was definitely keeping me sitting on the edge of my seat and I kept wondering how things would ever end up going the right way.
Yes, ‘The Hit’ was a great read I enjoyed from start to finish. We end up meeting some future characters as well and I can’t wait to read their stories. This read was the perfect mix of sexy, suspense, romance and angst. And I just loved it....more

Determined to safe her son Vivi tries to find a way out, while people around her are being killed. FBI agent Jed Brennan, happens to be in the mall as well and he soon saves Vivi and her son. But both Vivi and Jed soon learn that there is more danger ahead of them. Vivi’s son might have seen and heard more about the terrorists, and now he is a target.
‘Cold Pursuit’ is one of those books that grabs your attention right from the start. From the moment I started reading I was hooked to the pages and sitting on the edge of my seat. I just couldn’t put it down. Vivi is stuck in a giant mall while terrorists are randomly killing people around her. I totally got anxious and scared for her and her son while reading this book. Luckily there was Jed Brennan, and right from the start he did everything to make sure they were safe.
The fact that there was also a lot of chemistry between Vivi and Jed, made this a great read in my opinion. There was a lot of suspense, but also some interesting chemistry and I was rooting for them right from the start. This book was written through both Vivi and Jed’s point of view, and I loved reading this story like that. These characters where amazing and I loved getting to know them.
My favorite character was definitely Vivi. She was such a strong mom, she did everything she could to make sure her ‘autistic’ son got everything he deserved in life. I loved how she wasn’t so easily swept of her feet by the handsome FBI agent, and didn’t trust easy.
The suspense in this book was amazing, and the author kept me guessing right till the end. I can’t wait to read more books in this series. ...more

Shiloh got kidnapped when she was a little girl, and ever since she got back she always felt a bit suffocated by the people she loves. Her family desperately wanted to keep her save, but Shiloh just felt broken and confused. No one knows Shiloh has visited Ramsey’s ranch for years. And for a long time it wasn’t something worth telling since they never spoke. But now it’s time for Shiloh to start living. Ramsey has stayed away from people for years. People disappointed him, and he just wants to safe horses and nothing else. But when the beautiful girl that has visited him for years, starts coming closer, he finds himself changing his rules a little every day.
From the moment I started reading about Shiloh, I was so curious about her story. And when I started reading ‘Fractured Sky’ I literally couldn’t stop reading. And boy was this book good. These two main characters where definitely a bit different than you average main characters, and I loved every moment. Not only are there so many things about these characters we needed to learn, I also loved how they worked so well together.
The chemistry and romance between Shiloh and Ramsey, was intense and a slow-burn one for sure. But I adored every moment. I got teary eyed several times, and I just loved how Shiloh finally found some happiness for herself. Obviously, if you know Catherine Cowles you come to expect them a bit, we get some big twist and turns that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat.
I can’t believe the Tattered & Torn series has come to end with this book, and I secretly hope we get to read more. ‘Fractured Sky’ was definitely one of my favorites and I would recommend it for sure. ...more

Logan has always been the smartest Lawson brother, at least that is what everyone tells him. And he is pretty smart and handy in making people rich. But one day he gets a price he never intended to find, the one girl that broke him all those years ago, Aster.
Aster has lived her life in horror ever since Logan disappeared from her life. Once she believed him to be the love of her life, now she only wants to hate him for making her want things she can’t have. And the dislike is mutual, but there’s also a chemistry between them that they both can’t deny. Even if they really would prefer it.
To be completely honest, it took me a little while to really get into ‘Never Look Back’. It starts right in the middle of things, and it took me some time to catch up and get where we were in the story. Fortunately, when I was a few chapters in I was completely hooked.
The romance between Logan and Aster started years ago. They weren’t supposed to fall in love, or even spend time together because of their families. But from the moment these two met it’s obvious they aren’t able to stay away from each other. We read a bit about these previous moments, and we get right into the current moment where Logan and Aster meet again after they broke each other’s heart. And let me tell you.. It was intense.
And just like in most A.L. Jackson books, we get some amazing romance, some sexy scenes for sure but also some suspense that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. Add some moments with some previous characters from the earlier books, and you have a hit in my opinion. I can’t wait what the next book has in store for us. ...more

Calder was the one who helped Hadley escape her own life for a little while when they where younger. But a few years ago something changed, and Calder has been keeping his distance from Hadley. Hadley has been broken up about it for a long time. But now she is determined to forget all about him. Which is kind of hard when you’re a part of each other’s family and work together.
When I first read that ‘Falling Embers’ would be the story of Hadley and Calder I got really excited. When I read about them in the first book, I knew their story would be amazing. And it definitely didn’t disappoint. Hadley and Calder have known each other forever, they have always been a part of each other’s life. Always as just friends, but at the same time also never just as friends. Calder tried to keep his distance from Hadley these last few years. But after almost losing her, he now knows he can’t life without her and would do everything to be with her.
Hadley is this tough woman, who worked hard for where she is and who she is. After her life changed drastically when her younger sister got kidnapped many years ago, she always tried to find ways to escape her thoughts and her controlling mom. And Calder learned her how. But he seemed to forget about her, and now she must find her ‘escape’ alone. But when Calder gives her a glimpse of the guy he used to be.. she gets hope again. But unfortunately there is someone looking to hurt Hadley. And soon everything she worked for, and lives for is threatened.
I loved reading Hadley and Calder’s story. There was something magical about these two characters and their story kept me interested. ‘Falling Embers’ was a great story filled with a lot of romance and chemistry. I loved learning their story and reading this story through both their eyes. There was so much hurt between Hadley and Calder. But they have also always loved each other and I loved reading how they slowly found their way back to each other.
‘Falling Embers’ was definitely a wonderful read that I’d really recommend if your into the romance, mad chemistry, and suspense kind of books. ...more

Memphis has left everything behind to start a new life with her baby boy. All Memphis wants it to give her boy the best life possible, and she is determined to make it happen. Even though she wants to cry, and give up most days. With no money, and no one to help her out, she arrives in Quincy, Montana. And when she meets her new temporary landlord Knox Eden, she promises herself she will stay away from him. Because not only is he an amazing chef, he is also incredible handsome. But Memphis learned the hard way, to never trust a guy easily.
After ‘Indigo Ridge’, Devney Perry put the bar high for the next book in this series. But ‘Juniper Hill’ definitely didn’t disappoint and I read it in a day. After reading a bit about Knox Eden in the previous book, I knew this was a guy I was going to love. A chef, a bit mysterious and filled with tattoos.. Yes, Knox Eden was a guy I really wanted to get to know. And I loved him. I loved how hardworking he was, how he took care of his family.. and above all I loved how fiercely he wanted to take care of Memphis and her little boy.
I also really adored Memphis’s character. She grew up being really rich and privileged. But she was determined to change her life for her little boy. There were several moments in this book I really wanted to hug Memphis. As a new mom, she was struggling with her confidence and doing everything alone. It was heartbreaking to read, and I just wanted to tell her that she was such a great mom.
The romance and chemistry between Memphis and Knox was amazing and something I loved from the moment they first laid eyes on each other. I couldn’t get enough of these two and was rooting for them from the start.
This book had a little less suspense then the first one, but there still where some thrilling moments that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. And above all this book made me love the Eden siblings even more. I can’t wait on the next one. ...more

Winslow has recently gotten out of a bad relationship, and decided to change her life around and move back to the smalltown of Quincy, Montana. As the new chief of police to the little town, she is determined to make her life better. Now she is closer to her only remaining family member, her grandfather the mayor of Quincy, this should work out. But the night Winslow gets into town she meets Griffin Eden. A very handsome guy, who happens to be the owner of one of the biggest ranges in the county. And to make things even more complicated.. a young woman was found dead on Griffin’s land.
‘Indigo Ridge’ was from the very first page a very fun, interesting, romantic and exciting read. The main character Winslow, is feisty and definitely not a woman you can walk over. As the new chief, and someone not originally from Quincy, she definitely has to prove herself. But she is up for the challenge. And I enjoyed getting to know her character.
And then there is Griffin Eden. The oldest of the Eden siblings. (Yes, there are more! #squealsexcitingly) Griffin has known what he wants for as long as he could remember. And now he own the Eden Range and he is loving every minute of it. As a handsome guy in his thirties, he doesn’t lack attention from the ladies. But he isn’t looking for anything permanent. That is what he keeps saying to himself when he sees Winslow for the first time.
The chemistry between Winslow and Griffin was definitely amazing. You could feel it coming from the pages. I loved everything about these too. They just couldn’t stay away from each other and it was so fun to read their story. I especially loved how I would think certain things would happen, and then it didn’t happen. Loved that.
The suspense in this book was definitely fun as well. I enjoyed trying to find out what was going on beside Winslow. And the story really kept me guessing till the end.
‘Indigo Ridge’ was a great read, and it was definitely a fun first book in a new series. I’m definitely determined to read more books. Especially since there are so many more Eden Siblings. ...more

Since I love Romantic Suspense, this book definitely sparked my interest and I was super excited to start reading.
In ‘When I Know Your Name’ we meet Elena Dumont. Elena has had a feeling she is being watched for a while now. But no one seems to believe her. Than one day she is taken from her home and soon she realizes she is kidnapped. And they want her father to pay big. But one day, becomes one week and soon Elena is gone for weeks. But one of her captors is different, and soon Elena makes a choose that changes everything.
This book was definitely not what I imagined. From the start this story kept me hooked. Right away we are in the middle of things and it definitely made it hard for me to put this read away. The romance in this book was fun and different, really different. But there just was something about Elena and Ethan that kept me rooting for them until the end. And the author definitely kept me guessing how this romance was going to go. The chemistry between Elena and Ethan wasn’t as great as I’d hoped. Mostly because I just felt like there was still a lot of mystery revolving Ethan, which made it hard for me to really ‘trust’ him. But.. that being said.. This book definitely didn’t go the way I expected at all. And I really enjoyed that.
Mostly this book was really impressive and very original. The main character Elena wasn’t really my favorite. I felt really bad for her, but I just couldn’t really connect with her. And especially the way she was with her boyfriend, frustrated me a lot. But this story was thrilling enough to keep me hooked, and to not let me bother it as much as it would normally.
‘When I Know Your Name’ was a very thrilling and exciting read. The romance was enjoyable enough, but the fact that so much was going on that I didn’t expect made this book a really good one. I look forward to reading more books by Gemma Lawrence. ...more

And it pulle‘Tattered Stars’ start in the past, when Everly was just a young girl who made a very brave choice. That choice changed her life forever. And it pulled me into the story right away. Sixteen years have passed and Everly moves back to the town she ran away from all those years ago. But a lot of people aren’t so happy she has returned. One of them is Hayes. Hayes is the town Sheriff, and Everly’s return to his hometown makes everything complicated. And he hates her for it.
From the moment Everly and Hayes meet things are complicated. Complicated because of the past, and complicated because there is this instant attraction between the two of them. And Everly has learned to distrust everyone, and she really doesn’t have any one in her life that she can count on unconditionally. But when Everly and Hayes slowly get to know each other better, Hayes realizes he really wants to protect this tough and beautiful woman.
There is so much about this book I loved right from the start. The characters, the town and definitely the chemistry between Everly and Hayes. I couldn’t put this book down to be honest. The two main characters Everly and Hayes where just perfect. Everly has had a very rough childhood, and after she made one of the hardest decisions in her life, life only got tougher. And family has definitely never been something she could count on. It was really hard to read about Everly’s family. I just wanted to slap them all the time. Thank god for Hayes and his family. Hayes always felt like it was his responsibility to take care of his family. And soon Everly becomes part of his family. Even though she didn’t see it like that right away.
The romance in this book was definitely a perfect and delicious slow-burn. Boy did I love these two characters. And I definitely couldn’t get enough of them. The romance was wonderful, these characters, main and side, where amazing and the suspense kept you sitting on the edge of your seat. I loved everything about this read to be honest.
Not to forget.. Have you looked at that cover? Amazing right? I just love this cover!
‘Tattered Stars’ was an amazing, romantic and suspenseful read I couldn’t put down till I read it all. And I can’t wait to read more books in this series. ...more

I read two othWhen I received an email from Ana Huang a little while ago with the request for me to read ‘Twisted Love’, I was immediately intrigued. I read two other books by Ana before, and I definitely enjoyed them. And after reading the book description, I knew this was a book I had to read.
In ‘Twisted Love’ we read the story of Ava Chen and Alex Volkov. Ana is Alex’s best friends little sister. Ava has a very happy personality and always tries to make the best of things. Alex on the other hand is very dark and twisty (see what I did there Grey’s fans? :D ). When Ava and Alex are forced to spend more time together they slowly grow closer. But they are definitely two very different people, living two very different lives. Alex isn’t a ‘good’ guy and he doesn’t always have the best intentions. But there is this insane chemistry between them and it’s almost impossible to stay away from each other.
Let’s, start by saying this book was definitely my favorite from Ana Huang so far. Especially while reading the first few chapters, I was crying my eyes out from laughing so hard. There where some hilarious moments between these characters, and I just couldn’t stop laughing. My husband almost got worried when I couldn’t stop. Yes.. it was just really funny.
But next to being hilarious, I also loved the chemistry between Ava and Alex. It was easy to see that Ava really liked Alex from the start. She always sees the best in people. But Alex’s character was much harder to get to know. And I loved how his tough exterior slowly melted through Ava’s influence.
The one thing what I didn’t like in this book was the names Alex called Ava during sex. Sure he was a tough guy, but he was also super protective of Ava and him calling her these names just didn’t fitted in my opinion. And I just don’t think a woman being called those names is necessary at all. But luckily for me, this name calling only really happened in the beginning.
There were several twists in this book, and I definitely enjoyed those and didn’t see them coming at all. Which is something that doesn’t happen to me often.
‘Twisted Love’ was a very romantic, and also suspenseful book that kept me hooked. There is a lot happening, and at times I thought it was maybe a little too much.. but I loved it. I definitely can’t wait to read more books in this series....more
