A Piranha Bud is the child-state of a Piranha Plant and the state that comes after a Nipper Plant. They resemble regular Piranha Plants, with the exception being that they're mouths are smaller and they're overall smaller in size. They often appear alongside their adult forms and serve as a distraction to the heroes and a common pest. Many different kinds of Piranha Buds appeared throughout the Mario franchise. It is assumed that after some time, a Piranha Bud blooms into a Piranha Plant.
