During The Hive quest, the final main story mission on Kijimi, you will be given the opportunity to give power over the local Ashiga clan to either the current queen or her rebelling daughter. On this page of our guide we will present the consequences of both options, which will make it easier for you to make a decision.
Who should rule?
During The Hive mission, you will ally with a certain Krisk - the daughter of the Ashiga queen, who is not happy with her mother's rule. With the help of the Crimson Dawn, she plans to seize the throne by force and change the expansionist policies of the current queen.
As the game progresses, however, it is revealed that the Crimson Dawn plans to exploit the instability in the Clan for their own purposes. Wanting to counter this, Kay Vess comes into possession of a mysterious artifact called the origin strand. It is essential to keeping the Clan alive, and having it is equivalent to having power in the entire syndicate.
At the end of the task you will be faced with a choice. You must decide whether to return the origin strand to the reigning queen or give it to Krisk.
- If you choose to give the artifact to Krisk, she will immediately kill her mother and take the throne. Your reputation with the Crimson Dawn will improve significantly, and your relations with the Ashiga Clan will not change.
- Giving the origin strand to the ruling queen will greatly improve your standing with the Clan, but your relationship with the Crimson Dawn will deteriorate significantly. Similar to the previous choice, the queen will kill her rebellious daughter.
Which choice is better?
From a purely gameplay perspective, the idea of giving power to Krisk seems better. Your reputation does not decrease with any syndicates. This is also a good way to repair your relationship with the Dawn, which may have deteriorated due to your previous choices on Toshara.
Ultimately, however, you should base your decision on your own intuition, conscience, and the syndicate you plan to build a positive relationship with.
