The final part of the main storyline of Disco Elysium requires you to travel to the island where the wanted sniper is supposed to be hiding. On this page of our guide, you can find a walkthrough for the Go to the Island task - we explain the prerequisites and certain limitations regarding the journey and how to find a boat that will take you to your destination.
Traveling to the island as part of this task is the second point of no return - you will no longer be able to freely travel around Martinaise or complete side quests later. For more information on the subject, visit Is there a point of no return? page of our guide.
Unlocking the task
The island is initially inaccessible even with western Martinaise unlocked on day 3. The first step towards gaining access to this location is completing Inspect the window in Klaasje's bedroom task.
Harry needs to determine that the sniper fired from the island - you can learn of this by reading the note received from Klaasje, or after you've visited 2 out of 3 possible sniping locations (Determine where the shot came from task).
Finding a boat
Reach the fishing village in western Martinaise.
In the eastern part of the village there is a small pier with a boat, but you first need to talk to Lillene (screenshot) about borrowing it. During the conversation, bring up the subject of the island and the woman will agree to lend you the boat.
You can also ask Lilienne additional questions and pass a Rhetoric skill check, but this is not required if you just want to travel to the island.
Arrival at the island - the second point of no return
We recommend saving your progress now, as after reaching the Island, you will no longer be able to explore the world of the game or complete side quests from your journal.
Get to the pier and click on the moored boat. A long cut-scene depicting the passage to the northern island will be activated. Additionally, you'll receive 15XP and be able to explore (the location is quite linear) the island.
