One of the tasks connected to the sniper plotline in Disco Elysium is to Inspect the window in Klaasje's bedroom. On this page of our guide, we show how to receive the gift from Klaasje and how to once again examine the window with the goal of determining where the shot has come from.
Unlocking the task
This quest will appear in your journal after the Mercenary tribunal, which is a major showdown happening on the square in front of the hostel (Return to the Whirling-in-Rags task).
As you wake up after 2 days have passed, you can talk to Kim or Cuno (if Kim is in the hospital) and the quest will be initiated.
Another examination of the hotel window
The quest in question is heavily tied to Determine where the shot came from task which you could have started much earlier, after talking to Titus and Klaasje in Whirling-in-Rags.
If during Arrest Klaasje side quest you've decided not to arrest the woman, Klaasje will leave a note for you - you can find it on the ground floor of her hotel room. From it, you'll learn of a gift left from you upstairs.
Interact with the window on the first floor to examine it again.
- The gift from Klaasje will help you correctly determine the trajectory of the bullet fired by the sniper. You now know that the shot was fired from the Island. You can skip the rest of the task Determine where the shot came from and don't explore the other 2 places.
- If you didn't get help from Klaasje, you're going to need to check two possible shooter locations in western Martinaise, which means going through with the entirety of Determine where the shot came from quest.
In the end, the task to find the sniper nest will lead you to the Island - this location is visited in the course of the Go to the Island task. In addition, you will receive 15XP.
